(221+86) A Study on Improving the Spatial Services of Health Examination Centers Utilizing Pedestrian-based Discrete Event Simulation

As economic conditions improve, interest in health continues to increase and the focus of medicine is shifting from treatment to precautionary management. Subsequently, health examination centers which are generally affiliated to hospitals are receiving attention as core independent medical institutions. However, since health examination centers are genuine service providers on condition they have participation from doctors, nurses, and patients the design and improvement of such facilities is not simple. Thus, this study applied the pedestrian-based discrete event simulation (DES) to exsiting health examination centers, analyzed their problems, and identified improvement measures. Five types of assessments and verification indicators were presented which were derived through a specifically developed simulation analysis tool. The examination time and patient capacity were calculated through simulations, and the causes of delay to the examination time were identified. Based on the achieved results, improvements are proposed through adjusted patient capacity and improved space layouts. A quantitative analysis of the effects of the suggested improvements including reduced examination time and patient travel distance and rearrangement of congested areas are also presented.
경제여건이 향상됨에 따라 건강에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며, 의료의 개념은 치료에서 사전 관리로 중심이 바뀌고 있다. 이에 병원 부속기관에 머물렀던 건강검진센터는 핵심적이고 독립적인 의료기관으로 주목받고 있지만, 건강검진센터는 의사, 간호사, 환자의 참여가 전제되는 순수한 서비스 시스템으로서 설계와 개선이 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 보행자 기반 이산사건시뮬레이션을 적용하여 실제의 검진센터를 대상으로 문제점 분석 및 개선방법을 개발하였다. 4가지 평가 및 검증지표를 제시하고, 지표를 도출하기 위한 시뮬레이션 분석도구를 개발하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 검사시간과 수용인원 계산하였으며, 검사시간 지연의 원인을 파악하였다. 이를 토대로 서비스 수의 조정, 공간의 재배치를 통해 개선안을 제시하였으며, 검사시간 및 수검자 이동거리 단축, 혼잡구역의 분산 등 개선효과를 정량적으로 도출하였다.
